1、研討班內容簡介 | About Longitudinal Panel Data Methods

組織與管理學的研究者越來越多的開始接觸長時面板數據,但是傳統的長時數據分析方法,對與時間相關的因果推論有所欠缺。同時,長時數據變得越來越長,比如experience sampling methods跟蹤員工15個工作日或者更長時間,一些研究者也已經開始使用高頻率測量方法(例如每個員工超過100次重復測量)。傳統的分析方法對這類超長面板數據無法進行準確分析。本次研討班將給大家詳細介紹兩個新的分析方法:General Cross-Lagged Model?(用來增強因果關系推論) 和動態結構方程模型(用來分析超長的面板數據)。我們將通過實例來講解如何使用這兩個方法來分析組織與管理研究者所關注的理論問題。

Organization sciences and management researchers are increasingly exposed to longitudinal panel data. However, prevailing methods are weak in drawing temporal-based causal inferences on such data. Moreover, longitudinal data are increasingly longer, for example, 15 or more repeated measurements are used in experience sampling studies and high-frequency measures (e.g., 100 or more repeated measures for a subject) are more and more available to researchers. Conventional longitudinal methods are cumbersome or impossible to analyze this type of intensive longitudinal data. This workshop introduces to researchers in China two new methods: general cross-lagged model and dynamic structural equation modeling that can effectively address these difficulties. We will use concrete examples from management and organizational literatures to illustrate how to apply these analytic approaches in researchers' own projects.

中山大學管理學院一向致力于向華人管理學者介紹最前沿的研究方法。本次講座作為中山大學管理學院方法論系列講座第九期,是首次全國范圍內的關于長時面板數據的前沿研究方法的中文講座。本次講座致力于向華人學者介紹如何更好的進行長時面板數據研究。講授者將結合自己的實踐經驗,通過實例進行演示和說明,從而協助學員掌握新的組織管理研究方法。

This Workshop is the 9th annual workshop sponsored by SYSBS, featuring applications-oriented workshops focusing on the latest trends in organizational research methods. Led by two experts in the field, as the first national Workshop on New Advancements in Longitudinal Panel Data Analysis?in Chinese, it aims to tutor Chinese scholars about emerging methods to analyze longitudinal panel data in management and other disciplines of business and social sciences. In addition, the instructors will demonstrate how to apply these methods in their research projects.

溫馨提示:學員應提前熟知一些常用統計方法(包括線性回歸、 路徑分析、結構方程模型等)。另外,學員需要對貝葉斯統計方法有所了解。

Reminder: Participants should be familiar with some common statistical methods including linear regressions, path analysis, and structural equation modeling. In addition, some knowledge of Bayesian statistical methods is recommended.

Dr. Mo Wang is the Lanzillotti-McKethan Eminent Scholar Chair at the Warrington College of Business at University of Florida. He is also the Director of Human Resource Research Center at University of Florida. He specializes in research areas of retirement and older worker employment, expatriate and newcomer adjustment, occupational health psychology, leadership and team processes, and advanced quantitative methodologies. He received multiple scholarly achievement?awards?from?Academy?of?Management,?Society?for?Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and academic journals for his research in these areas. He also received Mid/Early Career Contribution/Achievement Awards from Academy of Management's OB Division (2017), American Psychological Association (2013), Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences (2013), Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (2012), Academy of Management's HR Division (2011) and Research Methods Division (2011), and Society for Occupational Health Psychology (2009). He was the Editor of The Oxford Handbook of Retirement.?He?also?serves?as?the?Editor-in-Chief?for?Work,?Aging?and?Retirement, an Associate Editor for Journal of Applied Psychology, and an Editorial Board member?for?multiple?academic?journals.?He?is?a?Fellow?of?American?Psychological Association, Association of Psychological Science, and Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Dr. Wang was the President of Society for Occupational Health Psychology (2014-2015) and the Director for the Science of Organizations Program at National Science Foundation?(2014-2016).

張震教授現任美國亞利桑那州立大學W. P. Dr. Zhen Zhang is Professor of Management and the Dean's Council of Distinguished?Scholar?in?the?W.?P.?Carey?School?of?Business?at?Arizona?State?University. Dr. Zhang obtained his Ph.D. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations in 2008 from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on leadership process and leadership development, work teams and groups, biological basis of work?behavior,?the?intersection?between?organizational?behavior?and?entrepreneurship, and advanced research methods. His work has appeared in several leading management journals including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organization Science,?Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Leadership Quarterly. Dr. Zhang also published research methods-oriented papers in Psychological Methods and Organizational Research Methods. One of his papers was the winner of the 2013 Wiley Award for Excellence in Survey Research of the Society for?Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Dr. Zhang is currently an Associate Editor at Personnel Psychology, and he is on the editorial review boards of Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational?Research Methods, and the Leadership Quarterly.
